The #Michigan State Spartan basketball team was on display tonight under the national spotlight against Kansas in the Champions Classic in Chicago and they didn’t disappoint their fans in pulling out a 79-73 victory. The star of the show for the Spartans was their main man, #Denzel Valentine who registered a triple double with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. The last Spartan to register a triple double against Kansas was #Magic Johnson. It’s clear that Valentine is poised to have a great senior season in leading the Spartans. Freshman #Matt McQuaid was also very impressive as well as he hit three 3-pointers and showed he has ice water in his veins as he was not in awe of being on the big stage. He showed he will be an important member of the playing group this year.
The Pac-12’s top two teams fell on Saturday, while the Big 12 looks to be down to the undefeated Cowboys and one-loss Sooners. Here’s how the world of college football stands after Week 11.
After this past weekends’ games, the Pac-12 is left with every team with at least two losses, thereby, making that league irrelevant as far as the College Football Playoffs are concerned. Even if their top teams win out, they cannot leapfrog other teams in other conferences to make it in the top four. In addition, the Big 12s’ top two teams have two losses. The stretch run will be interesting to say the least regarding the four spots for the playoffs.
