It’s hard to believe that the Pistons have had seven straight losing seasons. I haven’t followed them much since moving from Michigan to Memphis, TN. I have been a fan going back to the days they played in Cobo Hall with Dave Bing, Bob Lanier and Curtis Rowe, not to mention the days of the Bad Boys and the Larry Brown coached teams with Chauncey Billups, Rick Hamilton, Rasheed and Ben Wallace. Those teams were fun to watch and most of all, they were winning.
There is reason for hope this season, as only three players remain from when Stan Van Gundy took over- Andre Drummond, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brandon Jennings. Newcomers Stanley Johnson and Ersan Ilyasova arrive with big expectations as well a Marcus Morris. The main thing this season is there is no Josh Smith to deal with. Smith was clearly a bad fit with Detroit last season. Let’s wait and see how this season starts out. Stay tuned!!!!
